A luxury fashion brand video is a gift for any film maker primarily because you get to work with eye catching visual material. Following on from our previous work for Loake shoes and Alvis cars, we can now add hosiery to our portfolio thanks to our latest client. The company Pantherella are makers of fine English socks and have been hand-crafting luxury socks on the same street in Leicester since 1937. So to celebrate their 80th anniversary, they commissioned MGL Media to produce a film that would bring their story to a wider audience and take inside the factory.

Generations of families continue to work at Pantherella

All of the socks manufactured are hand-finished by a team that includes generations of skilled workers. As a manufacturer, Pantherella is particularly known for its fine-linked toe seams and it was fascinating to capture the concentration and craft of the seamstresses at work.

Putting luxury on video

The company has made socks for Harrods since the 1940’s and they are stocked by some of the world’s premium department stores. As a result the they now have an international reputation for using the finest materials available. We knew that our brand video needed to show the raw materials. These beautiful yarns, are made from Chinese Silk, Sea-Island Cotton and Cashmere in a variety of amazing colours. The yarn store itself is a visual treat.

Also in our luxury brand video felt heritage and history was a strong selling point but also we needed to show their focus on contemporary fashion. We shot archive materials and samples of their high-profile press coverage featuring film stars, musicians and royalty to show the high profile they now have internationally.
