Promotional Video and Fashion are a perfect fit. Video adds a new dimension to a fashion project. Beautifully shot visuals can really capture the essence of a style or collection. That was the goal in our recent collaboration with expert milliner, Giulia Mio. Giulia creates incredible head wear and we created a film to launch her latest collection, ‘A Peony For Your Thoughts’.
The Artistic Vision
Giulia had already developed a strong artistic vision for her collection. She said, “This collection is inspired by the beautiful natural variety of Peonies. I’ve created a series of hats choosing different types of peonies and using different materials, from silks to feathers.” When creating our brief, we were mindful of her aims. Her concept dictated our visual style and composition. We emphasised the floral theme and used dynamic framing. Our goal was to always to bring Giulia’s work to the fore.
Capture that backstage buzz

We’ve previously worked with Giulia on a masterclass series of training films. In those videos, Giulia guided online students through an array of millinery techniques. For her latest promotional video, we wanted to capture the excitement of a fashion launch. Reflecting the backstage buzz of a photo shoot, we adopted a documentary-style approach. A make-up artist added a professional sheen to proceedings. As the photographer worked with a professional model, we tried to encapsulate the essence of Giulia’s work.
