Whilst Blogging and Twitter and the plethora of other social networking tools that are out there certainly aren’t a new phenomenon, I think it’s fair to say that many of these things are only recently beginning to push their way into mainstream business.
Blogging, in particular, has seen a real resurgence of late with many businesses looking for new ways to reach their potential client base and build better relationships with their existing customers. Although some MGL staff have had some experience with personal Blogs, this is a new step for us and one that we’re really excited about.
One of the main influences on our decision has been our recent introduction to Twitter, which we find is a fantastic research tool and a brilliant way to connect with like minded people. Our enthusiasm for it has been such that we are now actively encouraging our existing clients to get connected. It’s been surprising to us just how many small businesses are still sceptical and wary of trying something different.
As a small business we know the power of building real lasting relationships, and it is no surprise to us that such a large proportion of our work comes from repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals. Twitter and other online tools offer the chance to massively grow your network whilst keeping abreast of all the latest developments in your field, so why not grab the opportunity with both hands and give it a go? Darren Rowse (@ProBlogger) has written some great articles on this very subject and here’s a good place to start: 8 Ways That Twitter Can Grow Your Business.
As for MGL Media, we will be regularly posting, with interesting snippets we find on the web or elsewhere, as well as letting you know about some of the projects we’ve been working on.
In the meantime, feel free to follow us on Twitter or check out the website at www.mglmedia.tv.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
